Given the information gathered throughout this research project, there is good reason as to why timber has been used as a construction material for as long as man has walked this planet. It is nature’s own gift that is unrivalled when put against man made materials. With the correct strategies in place to manage global de forestation, and the continued advancements in timber technologies, there is no reason why timber cannot become the building material to tackle the global housing crisis. Whilst doing so, help decrease the amount of resources used and greenhouse gasses emitted each year by the construction industry. Overall reducing the construction industries carbon footprint on the planet.
